Unsure of your next step after leaving school?

To help you make one of the most important decisions you are ever likely to make, find out about the options available to YOU!

Apprenticeship Prospects - If you are unsure about continuing in further education and feel you would like to move straight into a job, Apprenticeships could be the solution that you are looking for. Thousands of young people in the UK join organisations on apprenticeship programmes after leaving school and get real skills, experience and qualifications in their chosen career.

Apprenticeship Achievement - A great number of young people have started Administration, Customer Service and Health and Social Care Apprenticeships with HYA Training and have progressed very quickly into full time employment and many at supervisory and management levels within their chosen career.

Earn and Learn - If you are aged 16-18 you will be entitled to apply for EMA (Education Maintenance Allowance); whether you qualify for EMA payments will depend on your household income and personal circumstances.  You could receive as much as £30 per week and in most cases this should not affect any family tax credit, child or income support payments that you currently receive (*see note below).  If you have not already applied for EMA, HYA will provide the forms and help you to complete them.

Following a successful initial trial period, your work placement may offer you an employed status Apprenticeship contract.  You would be entitled to be paid a minimum of £95 per week direct from your employer for the remaining period of your training. This would replace any EMA payments and in most cases will effect your benefit entitlements (*see note below).

Entry to Employment - If you are unable for whatever reason to go straight into employment, further education or onto an apprenticeship framework, then e2e could be right for you.  The programme will provide you with an individual learning plan, so if you want a job, need training, want to go to college, e2e will give you the skills and confidence to do it.

A great number of young people who have joined the e2e programme with HYA Training have achieved nationally recognised qualifications and full time jobs within weeks of joining the programme.

Whilst on e2e you are entitled to EMA (Education Maintenance Allowance), £30 a week including travel expenses. Also bonuses will be paid for completing your course, going into further education or employment.

Reputation - HYA Training has a reputation of helping young people to achieve their goals by partnering with supportive local businesses that understand and promote the Apprenticeships and Entry to Employment (e2e) programmes.

Young Person Support - Supporting young people is our top priority and we are totally committed to helping you achieve your goals.  Whilst a young person is on a programme they will be offered support and encouragement to take up a full range of work experience and training opportunities.

(*Note: As individual personal circumstances differ, please contact us for further advice and information).
