Help to make the right decision
The choices available to young people today after leaving school can be mind-blowing. To help them to make one of the most important decisions they are ever likely to make, it is crucial you the parents/carers understand the options available too!
Apprenticeship Prospects - If a young person is unsure about continuing their education and feel they would like to move straight into a job, Apprenticeships could be the solution that they are looking for. Thousands of young people in the UK join organisations on apprenticeship programmes after leaving school and get real skills, experience and qualifications in their chosen career.
Apprenticeship Achievement - A great number of young people have started their Administration, Customer Service and Health and Social Care Apprenticeships with HYA Training and have progressed very quickly into full time employment and many at supervisory and management levels within their chosen career.
Entry to Employment Prospects - If a young person is unable for whatever reason to go straight into employment, further education or onto an apprenticeship framework, then e2e could be right for them. The programme with provide the individual with a learning plan, so if they want a job, need training, want to go to college, e2e will give them the skills and confidence to do it.
Entry to Employment Achievement - A great number of young people who have joined the e2e programme with HYA Training have achieved nationally recognised qualifications and full time jobs within weeks of joining the programme.
Reputation - HYA Training has a reputation of helping young people to achieve their goals by partnering with supportive local businesses that understand and promote the Apprenticeships and Entry to Employment programmes.
Young Person Support - Supporting young people is our top priority and we are totally committed to helping them achieve their goals. Whilst a young person is on a programme they will be offered support and encouragement to take up a full range of work experience and training opportunities. HYA is working hard to be a good equal opportunities training provider and has an Equal Opportunities Policy.
Apprenticeship Payment – Earn and Learn - Candidates aged 16-18 will be entitled to apply for EMA (Education Maintenance Allowance); whether they qualify for EMA payments will depend on your household income and personal circumstances. The maximum that can be paid is currently £30 per week and in most cases this should not affect any family tax credit, child or income support payments that you currently receive (*see note below). If a young person has not already applied for EMA, HYA will provide the forms and help to complete them.
Following a successful initial trial period, your work placement may offer you an employed status Apprenticeship contract. You would be entitled to be paid a minimum of £95 per week direct from your employer for the remaining period of your training. This would replace any EMA payments and in most cases will effect your benefit entitlements (*see note below).
